We seeking a Website Applications Developer with PHP/MySQL/OSS and must have strong Drupal experience in an enterprise. This person works as a hands-on developer building web-based applications, while working individually and as a member of a team. This person works primarily on PHP coding, HTML, JavaScript, and working with CSS and SSI to achieve the desired UI effects. This person will report to the Manager, Web and Software Development, Website Development Services.
Requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience consulting on projects, working both individually and as a member of a team.Experience working on formalized projects is important. The ideal candidate will also have some experience with web content management packages, and especially open-source tools like Drupal or Joomla is highly desirable. The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:
• Candidate should have 2+ years of web development experience, building applications and websites with PHP and MySQL. These sites should have dynamic functionality and should pull content from databases.
• Experience building administrative tools tied to these sites that allow business users (no HTML knowledge) to update content.
• Developer should be an open-source software (OSS) professional who writes quality, well-formed PHP scripts that adhere to best coding practices. Candidate should understand the critical/special security considerations of using PHP and open-source tools.
• Demonstrable website development experience in a professional setting that is evidenced by URLs on a resume and/or examples of work artifacts. In the case of intranet development, candidates will be prepared to demonstrate on a laptop, or have on portable media.
• Development experience should be end-to-end, database schema design to user interface.
